Dr. Neva Cebron, a Multi linguist and a specialist in Intercultural and Translatological studies, University of Primorska, Slovenia, who is visiting The Bhopal School of Social Sciences as part of the faculty and administrative exchanges between BSSS and University of Primorska, conducted her first student workshop on 7 February 2018.
The workshop was organised for a group of 35 advanced students of the Humanities group on the theme of 'Aiming towards Building Global Readiness and Competency based on Non-Essentialist Approaches'
The core theme of the workshop was Exploring Intercultural Narratives, which was approached based on learning materials developed within the IEREST project, EU's Life Long Learning Programme. The students got to learn about the difference between essentialist and non-essentialist approaches to culture, and the single story concept. Their next session on Anti-Discrimination Study Circle will be held on 13 February 2018.
