The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with a sincere patriotic fervour and zeal at the Bhopal School of Social Sciences. The cultural programme was woven with meticulous dexterity to narrate the stories of women freedom fighters and celebrate their glorious sacrifice with a sense of indebtedness and appreciation. The Dance Drama retold the story of Jalianwalabagh Tragedy and how the sad incident motivated the youth to increase their efforts to gain complete independence. The role of pen i.e. the contribution of writers was also acknowledge which paved way for freedom.
Principal BSSS, Dr. Fr. John P J, in his address motivated the youth to be worthy of this hard earned independence and to be aware of the rights and responsibilities which would make this beautiful country carve a niche for itself at global level.
The Chief Guest of the occasion, Major General Dr. P N Tripathy was extended a grand welcome with a guard of honour by the NCC cadets of BSSS. He inspired the students with his speech. His words motivated them to dream and to achieve success.
The occasion was also marked with competitions like paintings, photography, face painting, slogan writing etc. Earlier a quiz competition was also organised.
The Department of Physical Education, BSSS, organised a 'Run for Unity' and also a 'Bicycle Rally' to show reverence for the country and also to pay homage to our national heroes who laid down their precious lives for the sake of motherland.
