Empowering young minds with the knowledge of crafting proficient research papers is a paramount endeavour in nurturing their intellectual capabilities. By imparting education in this
domain, the students are equipped with essential skills to navigate the intricate landscape of academia. Engaging with research papers instils critical thinking, analytical prowess, and the ability to synthesize information effectively. It encourages students to explore diverse topics,
question assumptions, and contribute meaningfully to the academic discourse. In essence, providing education about research papers to young minds is a cornerstone in fostering a generation of informed, articulate, and resourceful individuals prepared to tackle the challenges
of the future.
Keeping all these things in mind, an insightful and educational workshop was organized on 20 December 2023 at 12 P.M. for the students of IV & VI Sem (Honours). This workshop was
focused on Research Methodology which was conducted in two phases in online mode. Phase I was conducted by Dr. Sarita Rana, Associate Professor MBA (Finance Department) Acropolis Faculty of Management & Research, Indore. The session began with the welcoming of the guest by Dr Neetu Jain, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce.
The first phase of the workshop emphasized on the ‘Basics of Writing a Research Paper’, where Dr. Sarita Rana started her session with the structure of any research paper beginning from abstract to appendices; she then moved on to explaining terms associated with research paper including-

02. Methodology (what are the methods used to collect the data for research)
03. Research objectives (what does it include, its need and characteristics)
04. Hypothesis (meaning and hypothesis testing methods)
05. Conclusions (how the results obtained and discussions based on the same are presented)
06. References (as the students must acknowledge that they’re using somebody else’s data and give credit to the concerned person)
07. Appendices (how we present the relevant documents that contributed to our research)
Alongside this, she also explained to the attendees about: -
1. Types of data & where to use primary and secondary data sources
2. Formats used in research papers for referencing (MLA format, APA format, ACM format).
In the end she cleared all the doubts and queries of the participants. This online workshop was
jointly organised by BSSS Incubation Cell and Department of Commerce.
