"How to build a successful Start-Up" by Dr. Udeep Chawla

5th September, 2022 - The BSSS Incubation Centre organized a session on “How to Build a Successful Start-up” on 5th September 2022 at 2:00 pm in BSSS Incubation Centre. Dr. Udeep Chawla from Elpis Analytix was invited as the guest speaker of the day. The objective of the session was to detail students on building their successful Start-up.

The session started with Dr. Smitha Pillai (Nodal Officer, BSSS Incubation Centre) introducing the guest of the day Dr. Udeep Chawla to the student participants and welcomed him to have the discussion with the students.

Dr. Udeep Chawla briefed his experience in Start-up environment along with introducing his organization Elpis Analytix and their involvement in Start-ups. There after he detailed on the topic of the day building a successful start-up in which the following sub-topics were covered:

  1. Various areas, methods and steps to be considered while starting a new business venture
  2. Importance of planning and research
  3. Importance of Innovation
  4. How IPR is important in protecting innovative and unique idea
  5. Protecting key factors of the business idea while discussing with investors and others
  6. Innovation by students from non-technical education background
  7. Arranging of funds through financial institutes, venture capitalists and angel investors

        The speaker detailed more on IPR and various factors on how all IPR can protect their innovation, start up, brand name and much more. He also motivated the students to present their idea at the event, where couple of students came forward to present. During the final moments of the session, participants also came up with some doubts on the topic and their business ideas to which Dr. Udeep responded by clearing their doubts with his experience.

        Dr. Smitha Pillai then gave her vote of thanks to Dr. Fr. John P.J. (Principal, BSSS College) for giving this opportunity with BSSS Incubation Centre, Dr. Udeep Chawla for delivering the session, dignitaries and all the participating students.
