29th September 2023: AICTE under the MoE announced Smart India Hackathon 2023 in August 2023 and announced around 240 problem statements. For the problem statements which were identified by various central and state governments and also by many government departments and NGOs, they had invited innovative solutions against the problems from students of Higher Education. For SIH 2023 they have also announced a winning reward of Rupees One Lakh per problem statement and in some categories, there are three rewards of Rupees One Lakh, Rupees Seventy-Five Thousand, and Rupees Fifty Thousand. The Higher Education Institutes were responsible for inviting applications from students and forwarding the eligible ones after conducting an internal hackathon.
Initially, the last date of application was 30th September 2023, which was increased to 10th October 2023 and then to 31st October 2023. For applying teams of six members with at least one female member had to be constituted and all the team members have to be students of the applying Higher Education Institute itself. The students and team were identified by the faculties of the Department of Computer Application and they were asked to present their identified solutions on 29th September 2023 to a panel constituted of faculties from the Department of Computer Application and Dr. Arti Mudaliar (Nodal Officer, BSSS Incubation Centre).
Three teams applied for the SIH by identifying a problem statement announced for SIH 2023, these teams were invited to present their solution to the panel of judges constituted by the college.

The above-mentioned teams presented their solution to the judgement panel, to which the panel also interviewed them with various queries which were answered by the teams. Also, the panel gave their suggestion which can be improved in the final solutions that will be forwarded to SIH for further evaluation and rounds.
Post the conduction of internal hackathon on 29-09-23, there was a notification received from SIH 2023 that the last date of application has been extended to 10th October 2023. Also, it was announced by the organizers that internal hackathon is not mandatory.
