Successiva'22

29th Ocotber, 2022 - The Department of Commerce in collaboration with the BSSS Incubation Centre organized Entrepreneur’s meet “BSSS Successiva’22” on 19th October 2022 at 02:00 pm in the BSSS Auditorium. This event was in line with Hon;ble Prime Minister’s “Atma nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan”.  Mr. Gaurav Goyal, Assistant Director, MSME DI, Indore was the Guest of the Day.

The students of MCOM, Commerce Club and the members of Incubation centre coordinated the event.

The objectives of the event were:

  • Make students familiarize with existing start-ups.
  • To promote Start-up culture.
  • To create entrepreneurially oriented learning environment in the city of Bhopal.

The BSSS Incubation Centre received twenty-seven registrations for stalls from micro, small and medium enterprises out of which nine were startups of our students. They have used this platform to checking the market viability of their ideas and products.

One of the incubation members, Ms. Kankshita Kaushik from B.A. Hons English Literature, welcomed the audience and introduced them to “Successiva’22”. She briefed about the vision of the BSSS Incubation Centre and its support mechanism for students with Start-up ideas. In the era of  job race in  MNCs, private sectors and Government Sectors, the BSSS Incubation Centre motivates the youth to become an entrepreneur who can create job opportunities for others.

Ms. Ayushi Dwivedi, of B. Com Hons 3rd Sem, welcomed the dignitaries of the event Dr. Fr. John P.J. Principal BSSS, Dr Sr. Sonia Kurian Vice Principal, Mr. Gaurav Goyal, Asst. Director, MSME DI, Indore and Dr Smitha Pillai, the Nodal officer of BSSS incubation Centre. Dr.Fr. John P.J. welcomed the Guest of the day and the entrepreneurs present at the event. He also motivated the students and the entrepreneurs by encouraging them and emphasizing the importance of participative learning in higher education. Dr John also congratulated the team incubation centre for their untiring effort to create an entrepreneurially oriented culture in the campus.

Mr. Gaurav did boost the morale of the student start-ups who were testing the market viability of their products by congratulating them. BSSS Incubation centre is the first non- technical incubation centre in the State of Madhya Pradesh He also showcased the achievement of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the last eight years and detailed on various support mechanism that start-ups can be benefit from the MSME. He also briefed about MSME Idea Hackathon and motivated the students to participate in such national level competitions. Thereafter, Dr Fr John P J presented a Memento to Mr. Goyal as a token of appreciation for his presence during the event.

All the guests, faculties and students interacted with the exhibitors to know about their ventures and products and encourage them by buying their products. The participants of the stalls were extremely happy to get such a platform to sell their products and get genuine reviews and expectations from their customers.

The event also showcased Corporate Attire by the students of Department of Commerce. The objective of this activity was to present variety of pleasing attires that can be worn by young entrepreneurs when they participate in corporate meetings and events.

 Ms. Sanya Acharya who has made her musical passion into entrepreneurship presented a musical performance   which has stolen the entire show. She is also one of the young alumni entrepreneurs of the BSSS college. She has a media venture named Saniya ka Radio where she is involved in various activities like singing, anchoring, RJ and a digital creator. Saniya detailed   her entrepreneurial journey and how she made her passion for music as an enterprise. Also, she acknowledged the support and opportunities provided by the ED cell of the college while she was pursuing her graduation. BSSS RHYTHM also given a musical performance during the event which has added more enjoyment to the event.

After the mesmerizing performance by Ms. Sanya, the Entrepreneurs who were exhibiting their products got introduced by the organizing team, which consisted of Sejal Jhamwani and Grishma Parsai from M.Com 3rd Semester, Utkarni Parihar from B.B.A. 3rd year and Sudiksha Kshatriya from B.A. Psychology Hons 1st Semester. There was also a competition for the audience where names of some successful start-up ventures were screened and the ones who were able to identify their taglines and owners won prizes. Few more performances were staged by Aalap Bhatt and Ayush Bharadwaj from BSSS RHYTHM.

Out of the eighteen registered stalls, two were not able to make it due to some unexpected reasons and sixteen start-ups were involved exhibited and selling their products.

The products exhibited ranged from Cosmetics, Jewellery, healthy food, sweets, handicrafts, home décor, arts, accessories and many more.

By organizing the Entrepreneurs meet “Successiva’22”, which also was an exhibition cum sale the objective of the event was fulfilled by motivating students to pursue entrepreneurial activities. The students got motivated by the words of Dr. Fr. John P.J. and Mr. Gaurav Goyal. Also, they have shown interest to participate in the MSME Idea Hackathon 2.0. Students also got details on how MSME and the BSSS Incubation Centre can support them to fine tune their business ideas into a sustainable revenue generating model. While interacting with the entrepreneurs who exhibited their business ventures and Ms. Sanya, the students got to know more about the opportunities in Entrepreneurship that too by following their passion and skills.
