



The Department of Psychology at The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) was formally established in 2020 with the objective of providing cutting-edge education in the field of behavioural sciences. However, the study of Psychology has been an integral part of BSSS since its inception in 1972.
Since its foundation, the Department has consistently promoted a scientific, research-oriented approach to understanding human behaviour. It offers professional programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, along with diploma and certificate courses, thereby equipping students with strong academic foundations, practical competencies, and value-based skills essential for professional practice.
Under the able and visionary leadership of Dr. Vinay Mishra, the first psychologist to be part of a research team to Antarctica, the Department of Psychology fosters a holistic and dynamic environment for learning, research, and innovation in behavioural sciences.
The Department is committed to nurturing critical thinking, ethical practice, and experiential learning, enabling students to apply psychological principles meaningfully across diverse personal, social, and professional contexts.

The MA Psychology programme provides advanced training in psychological theories, research methodology, assessment, and intervention techniques.
