The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) celebrated Traditional Day ‘Virasat’ with great pomp and show on Saturday. The Traditional Day, based on the theme of reviving traditions and connecting hearts, aimed to celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage. The program began with the lighting of the lamp. It was organized under the leadership of Dr. Ashish Dilraj, Head of the Commerce Department, with the cooperation of the department members.
The cultural segment of the program beautifully showcased India’s heritage. The audience was captivated by various forms of classical and folk dances based on Indian traditions.
Principal Dr. Father John PJ welcomed everyone. He thanked the special guest, Harion Jatia, MD, Excellence Time Entertainment Limited, and expressed gratitude for his support over the years. The chief guest, Maharaja Arunashwar Saran Singhdeo of Surguja, appreciated the college for its progress while remaining connected to its roots and called the spectacular display of heritage magnificent.
Nikita Porwal was celebratory guest
The celebrity guest of the program was Nikita Porwal, Femina Miss India 2024, who in her address said that heritage is not showmanship or modernity but is hidden in Indian simplicity, tradition, and humility, and that this is truly our identity and what gives us happiness.
Nikita Porwal and all the guests also participated in a ramp walk. Anshuman Chauhan and Filza Khan were adjudged Mr. and Miss Traditional respectively.
