BSSS Organises "Ummeed Blood Donation Camp" on World Heart Day

The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), in collaboration with Hamidia Hospital, Bhopal, organised the "Ummeed Blood Donation Camp". Held on the occasion of World Heart Day, the camp revolved around the theme "Ignite Hope in Your Heart – Donate Blood, Save Lives". The primary objective of this initiative was to promote voluntary blood donation among students, faculty, and staff, contribute to local blood banks, and support life-saving medical treatments across the community.

The college community responded overwhelmingly to the drive, with enthusiastic participants donating a total of 151 units of blood. Student clubs and organisations—including the National Service Scheme (NSS), Prayas, and the Departmental Student Club—came together to execute the event, demonstrating compassion, social responsibility, and collective effort.

Voluntary blood donation was highlighted as a meaningful act of service during the camp, helping save lives and extending essential aid to patients in need. The initiative provided students with an opportunity to engage in community welfare activities and deepen their understanding of social responsibility.

The successful execution of the camp was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Social Outreach Enabling Unit (SOEU) team, the Department of Social Work, and student volunteers. BSSS Principal Dr. Fr. John P.J. praised the student volunteers and teaching staff who stepped forward to make this noble initiative a major success. Through the "Ummeed Blood Donation Camp", BSSS reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a culture of empathy, civic engagement, and community service, inspiring young citizens to actively contribute to societal welfare.
