BSSS Organises Research Workshop

Under the guidance of Dr. Prof. Rasmeet Kaur Malhi, Head, Department of Economics, and coordinated by Ms. Poonam Bhojwani, Session Incharge, Department of Economics, The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) organised a Research Workshop at Digital Dimension. The workshop was conducted by Ms. Anjali Thakur, who has cleared UGC NET-JRF and GATE in Economics and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at MANIT Bhopal. The session aimed to familiarise students with the research process, research methodology, and practical tools required for undertaking academic research. A key component of the workshop was the practical application of R software. Students were introduced to the use of R for data handling, statistical analysis, and interpretation of research data. The hands-on session enabled students to understand how statistical tools can be applied in empirical research and provided them with practical exposure to software commonly used for quantitative analysis. Speaker also discussed various stages of the research process, including identification of a research problem, formulation of research objectives, selection of appropriate methodology, data collection, analysis, and interpretation. The interactive nature of the workshop encouraged students to actively participate and clarify their queries related to research and data analysis. The workshop provided students with valuable exposure to both the conceptual and practical dimensions of research, strengthening their analytical skills and encouraging them to approach academic research in a systematic and evidence-based manner.
