The students were also introduced to the various types of cases handled by the District Court—Civil, Criminal, and Revenue—and learned about the critical role citizens can play in strengthening India’s legal framework. This educational experience was made possible through the guidance and support of Shri Sunil Dandotiya, [Special Judge for the POCSO Act], and Shri Abhay Singh, [District Legal Assistant Officer, Bhopal], whose expert insights greatly enriched the students’ understanding of legal procedures and child protection laws.
The visit, initiated under the leadership of Dr. Rutwik J. Gandhe and materialized by Mr. Atul Vishwakarma, exemplifies the Department of Social Work at BSSS’s commitment to providing its students with exceptional exposure to real-world legal and social work practices. Dr. Richi Simon, always seeking meaningful learning opportunities for her students, was instrumental in conceptualizing this visit, further enhancing the department’s dedication to integrating practical experiences into the curriculum. The visit was coordinated by Mr. Atul Vishwakarma, Dr. Richi Simon and Ms. Stella Elsa Samuel.
