The Bhopal School of Social Sciences inaugurated its Golden Jubilee Year on 14 March 2022. The honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangubhai Patel Ji, Governor of MP graced the occasion as chief guest, Students, Alumni and staff members welcomed him with thunderous applause. Patriotic fervor reverberated in the auditorium as the national anthem echoed. The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by the honorable Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangubhai Patel Ji, Most Rev. Dr. A.A. S. Durairaj SVD Archbishop of Bhopal & Chairman of the college, Vice-Chancellor, Barkatullah University, Bhopal Professor R.J.Rao, Principal, BSSS, Dr. Father John. P.J. Vice Principal and Dr. Sr. Soni Kurian . The lamp signified the removal of darkness and continues upward movement of the flame denoted a path of wisdom & divinity. The incessant mounting of the flames symbolized the virtue & holiness in the ceremony.
Most Rev. Dr. A.A. S. Durairajwelcomed the honorable governor with the bouquet, shawl& a plaque in the BSSS auditorium which is one of the biggest auditoriums in the city equipped with the latest technology with a larger seating capacity.
Dr. Fr. John P.J. welcomed the gathering with immense pride and unveiled the fifty years journey of BSSS since its inception in the year 1972. which is currently a NAAC Re-accredited Autonomous College under the UGC Scheme with ‘A’ Grade (CGPA 3.27) and approved training partner of NSDC. He also gave a brief overview of the glorious journey of BSSS over the past academic years and He felt inflated with a sense of gratification for keeping projects with the Ministry of Social Justice & Environment. He expressed that “values of life should be embedded on priority basis as inculcating integrity is the essence of life”.He shared that BSSS ranked 45th Best college amongst India’s Top- Ranked Private autonomous colleges league table and No. 1 in Madhya Pradesh among the private autonomous colleges under the State Rankings category. For BBA it has been ranked 37th in all India. He also mentioned his utmost happiness& pride to announce thatBSSS was also being honored for the extension activities conducted during the Covid- 19 Pandemic by helping underprivileged communities in the city. Not only this Myaar group of the BSSS booked Limca Book of Records on conveying the importance of the Swatch Bharat Mission. BSSS has also been awarded for its initiative of Knowledge on Wheels (KoW which is a platform for providing digital learning to the underprivileged children of Bhopal and awarded for keeping Green Campus in the premises. Devararambh which is a body for social welfare is also contributing by providing tiffins to AIIMS hospital. He was delighted to declare that BSSS has been shining in the clouds with rising many numbers of students placed in top-notch companies and also spoke about the Futuristic Development Programs to elevate the standards of the college on a global level which includes the signing of MOUs with leading industries to enhance Industry-Institute relationship.
Most Rev. Dr. A.A. S. Durairajalso congratulated the ambiance for successfully completing five decades of its institutional journey. He Overwhelmingly presided that BSSS has reached its threshold of the important milestone of gloriously completing 50 years& graced the odyssey of this educational institute. He inflated with pride to give a count of more than 60,000 students who has been getting education under its esteemed umbrella.
Vice-Chancellor, Barkatullah University Prof. R.J. Rao was also delighted to congratulate the BSSS family for embarking on its marvelous institutional expedition which has grown in leaps and bounds. He shared that during the last 50 years since its inception the college has become one of the leading educational institutions in the city Bhopaldistinct for its academic excellence, disciplined and organized environment.
Honorable Governor, Shri Mangubhai Patel Ji congratulated the staff and students and also highlighted the importance of Indian culture, creativity, initiative and endless learning to achieve excellence in any field of work. He implored the students to keep in mind the institute’s expectations from them and be considerate of the greater good, no matter where they are and what they do.
PRO Manju Mehta said that “the college has always strived for excellence and building the character and ability of students into highly motivated, responsible and qualified Citizens. We are proud to state that the college has performed exceedingly well, in all its courses whether UG or PG”.
To mark an end to the auspicious ceremony, National Anthem was played with the hope that the graduating batch will color the skies with their worthy innovations and achievements and carry on the legacy of this glorious institution. The inaugural of the Golden Jubilee year has been successfully begun with the vibrant colors of cultural performances including folk dance & patriotic songs.
