IGNIS: ENGLISH CLUB HOSTS SOUL-STIRRING 'OPEN LETTERS' EVENT AT BSSS

IGNIS: The English Club of The Bhopal School of Social Sciences under the aegis of the Department of English, once again illuminated the campus with the power of words, hosting the much-anticipated “Open Letters” event. Bringing together an enthusiastic gathering of literature enthusiasts, the event provided a heartfelt platform for students to share their self-written, deeply personal letters with a live audience.

Participants poured their emotions into letters addressed to people who have shaped their lives, covering themes of love, gratitude, nostalgia, and self-reflection. From tender tributes to powerful introspections, the evening unfolded like a symphony of emotions.

Among the many captivating moments, Shrawan Minj’s evocative portrayal of rain as a symbol of hope struck a chord, while Nilav Bhattacharjee’s reflections on past relationships offered a poignant take on personal growth. The creative expressions of Shruti Mishra, Huda Amir, and Parnika Gupta kept the audience deeply engaged, while powerful lines from Sumayyah Mannan Khan and Mohammad Faiz left a lasting impact. A particularly memorable highlight was the insightful interpretation of Konstantin Korobova’s painting Agnus by Ms. Aditi Kundu, a first-year BA English student, which was met with awe and admiration.

Adding to the emotional intensity of the event, Arshad Ali presented an anthemic letter that explored his deep-seated emotions about his father and the aching sentiment of an unsent letter.

IGNIS President, Anushka Panwalkar, expressed her thoughts on the significance of such events, emphasizing how literature has the power to connect, heal, and inspire.

Guided by the unwavering support of IGNIS In charge Dr. Sana Farooqui and the passionate IGNIS team, the event reaffirmed the club’s dedication to nurturing literary expression and fostering meaningful dialogue among students. True to its mission, IGNIS continues to organize a variety of engaging literary events every month, welcoming both college students and literature lovers beyond campus.

The program was attended by Sr. Rohini, Management Coordinator, HoD, English, Shibani Basu Dubey, and all the faculties of the English department adding to the event’s significance and fostering a deeper academic and literary connection within the institution.

For literature aficionados, storytellers, and dreamers alike, Open Letters was more than just an event, it was an experience that will be cherished in the hearts of those who attended.
