A Heartwarming Reunion of Alumni at BSSS

The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) campus came alive with laughter, memories, and heartfelt reunions during the grand Alumni Meet, where former students from the batches of 1972 to 2020 gathered to celebrate their cherished bond with the institution.

The event was not just a reunion—it was a joyful journey down memory lane. Alumni began arriving at 3 PM, each step onto the campus evoking memories of days gone by.

Around 150 former students from across the country—Hyderabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kochi, Bilaspur, Dehradun, and more—returned to their alma mater, transforming the campus into a vibrant space echoing with shared stories and nostalgia.

One of the most special moments of the evening was the presence of Ramesh Damle from the very first batch of 1972. His arrival from Amla was met with emotion and admiration, rekindling the legacy of the pioneering batch, which consisted of 13 students—12 girls and Damle himself. His presence brought a unique warmth to the celebration and served as a beautiful reminder of how far BSSS has come.

College alumnus and current Principal, Dr. Fr. John PJ, warmly welcomed all the attendees. In his heartfelt address, he said, “The credit for the progress of the Bhopal School of Social Sciences goes to you—our alumni. You are our identity, our strength.” Dr. John made it a point to speak personally with many attendees, ensuring each felt valued and remembered.

Dr. Laila Simon, the convener of the organizing committee, reflected on the emotional depth of the occasion, noting, “Today is a day filled with memories of the past and hopes for the future. The presence of our alumni reminds us of our roots and inspires our continued journey.”

Adding to the emotional resonance of the event, Judie Shaji Abraham from the organizing committee shared that many alumni were eager to visit their old classrooms and relive the fond memories associated with the iconic college well—an enduring symbol of campus life.

College PRO, Dr. Manju Mehta, beautifully summed up the spirit of the day by saying, “Our alumni are our strength. Their arrival has brought with it a wave of enthusiasm, joy, and springtime energy that has rejuvenated the entire college.”

The event was not only a gathering of individuals but a heartfelt celebration of a shared past. It rekindled friendships, reignited dreams, and reminded everyone present of the lifelong bond they share with BSSS.
