B.Com Tourism students of The Bhopal School of Social Sciences undertook a one-day educational tour organized by the Department of Commerce to villages sponsored by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board to Gyarakhedi and Bharatpur. As part of the visit, students also explored the historic Sanchi Stupa and the Udayagiri Caves.
The objective of the tour was to provide experiential learning on the state’s rural and heritage tourism initiatives. From BSSS, Dr. Sushma Sunita Tiwari, Ms. Priyanka Sinha, and Ms. Pooja Mishra accompanied the students. Project Executive Rishabh from the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board was also present.
Students visited Gyarakhedi Homestay — including Jayshree Homestay and Sonali Jungle Homestay — where they were introduced to community-based tourism. Through interactions with host families, artisans, and self-help groups, students gained insights into local culture, agri-tourism, cuisine, and rural lifestyles.
