AAATMAN Project of The Bhopal School of Social Sciences, under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan which is a Flagship Programme of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India organized a student interaction programme named “Charcha” on 26th April, 2022. Charcha aimed at bringing in all the student volunteers of AAATMAN in one platform to discuss the work done by AAATMAN so far. The event was graced by the presence of the Dr. Fr. John PJ, Principal, The Bhopal School of Social Sciences and the Guest of Honour, Madam Radhika Chakravarthy, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Madam Chakravarthy interacted with the attendees of the session and gave her valuable suggestions of strengthening the work done by the AAATMAN team. Madam guided the team to constitute effective mobile clinics of counsellors as her experiences of working in the field of addiction calls for collaborative actions of professionals and volunteers. She praised the team for the work that they have been putting up against addiction and was highly impressed with the energy, enthusiasm and dedication projected by each and every individual associated with AAATMAN Project. Dr. Fr, John PJ congratulated the team for being instrumental in the mission. He stressed upon the fifty years of association with social sector. He further spoke about associations with governmental projects for better social impact. Furthermore, the team presented a documentary of the work done so far highlighting the milestones of achievement that AAATMAN has had over the years. The documentary projected various activities undertaken by the team and was highly appreciated by the guests and attendees. During the event, team AAATMAN unveiled KNOCK, the magazine depicting the thoughts and ideas of the contributors about addiction and its ill effects. Dr Fr. John PJ and Madam Chakravarthy officially released KNOCK during the event. Overall, under the abled leadership of the Co-PIs, Mr. Abraham K Varghese, Head, Department of Social Work, Mr. Vinish Shaji, Project Cell Coordinator, BSSS and Mr. Balveer Mehra, Networking and Liaison Coordinator, the event had been a grand success.
